Massage For A Relaxed and Blissful YOU!

Massage therapy has a long history in cultures around the world. Today, people use many different types of massage therapy for a variety of health-related purposes. In the United States, massage therapy is often considered part of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).

Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are dozens of types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities).

People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons – to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness.

The History of Massage

Massage therapy dates back thousands of years. References to massage appear in writings from ancient China, Japan, India, Arabic nations, Egypt, Greece (Hippocrates defined medicine as "the art of rubbing"), and Rome.

Massage became widely used in Europe during the Renaissance. In the 1850s, two American physicians who had studied in Sweden introduced massage therapy in the United States, where it became popular and was promoted for a variety of health purposes. With scientific and technological advances in medical treatment during the 1930s and 1940s, massage fell out of favor in the United States. Interest in massage revived in the 1970s, especially among athletes.

How Does Massage Work?

It involves the use of a motorized device with two adjustable rollers and controlled suction which is moved over the patient, who wears a specially designed body stocking. The continuous action of the rollers lessens the appearance of the cellulite, increases the blood circulation and stimulates the lymph system to remove toxins and unwanted fluid.

The ROLL (rollers) and LIFT (valves) treatment heads gently pull the skin tissue, perfectly targeting different areas of the body with a 100% natural treatment.

Endermologie can be used to treat different skin areas with a very wide range of application.

What Are The Benefits of Massage?

In an age of technical and, at times, impersonal medicine, massage offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body's natural ability to heal itself. So what exactly are the benefits to receiving regular massage and/or bodywork treatments?

  • Increases circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.
  • Stimulates the flow of lymph, the body's natural defense system against toxic invaders.
  • Increased circulation of blood and lymph systems improves the condition of the body's largest organ - the skin.
  • Relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles.
  • Reduces spasms and cramping.
  • Increases joint flexibility.
  • Reduces recovery time, helps prepare for strenuous workouts and eliminates subsequent pains of the athlete at any level.
  • Releases endorphins - the body's natural painkiller - and is being used in chronic illness, injury and recovery from surgery to control and relieve pain.
  • Reduces post-surgery adhesions and edema and can be used to reduce scar tissue after healing has occurred.
  • Improves range-of-motion and decreases discomfort for patients with low back pain.
  • Relieves pain for migraine sufferers and decreases the need for medication.
  • Provides exercise and stretching for atrophied muscles and reduces shortening of the muscles for those with restricted range of motion.
  • Assists with shorter labor for expectant mothers, as well as less need for medication, less depression and anxiety, and shorter hospital stays.
  • And much more...
